I don’t always follow my own advice. I expect others to read it and be so blown away that their lives instantly change for the better. Yet, when given the opportunity to listen to my own words, I am not always likely to walk the walk.

Why is that?

Melissa Dahl has written a great article for NYMag.com that might just have the answers.

Dahl explains that we are too close to our problems, so our emotions cloud our judgement. She discusses why we can identify other people’s problems, but at the same time be blinded by our own.
